Ways to Give

Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado Foundation offers a variety of ways to give.

• Bequest from your will or trust
You may designate a specific dollar amount, specific item/property, a percentage of your estate, or “what’s left” after you take care of your family.  Your gift must be designated as going to “Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado Foundation EIN # 84-1488592.” 

• Charitable gift annuity (current or deferred)
A gift annuity is an agreement between a donor and Goodwill where the donor makes a gift to Goodwill in exchange for a fixed income for life. Benefits include a charitable tax deduction, avoidance of capital gains tax if the gift is appreciated securities, and a fixed income for your and another’s life. • Charitable trust
A charitable remainder trust can provide you and other beneficiaries’ income, save on taxes (income, capital gains and estate), and benefit charities you value.

• Retirement plan designation
Give retirement plan assets to your favorite charities and avoid the two-fold taxation that occurs when passing your retirement plan on to beneficiaries other than your spouse.

• Real estate
Before you sell real estate, consider a new option. If you'd like to help fulfill our mission, your property opens the door to a unique giving opportunity: donate the property to us. You can give the property outright (and still live in it for the rest of your life), place it in trust or give it by will. All of these methods will enable you to enjoy personal financial benefits while supporting our work in a meaningful way.

• Life insurance
By making Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado Foundation the beneficiary of an existing policy, you make good use of your resources and expand your ability to make a significant gift.
