It’s part of Goodwill’s new Donate Movement -- a public awareness campaign emphasizing the many positive effects of donating. Through the Donate Movement, Goodwill is challenging people to rid their closets and homes of unwanted items and put them to good use by donating them.
As an environmental pioneer for nearly 50 years, Goodwill hopes this innovative campaign encourages people to reduce, reuse and repurpose items they no longer need. As part of the campaign, Goodwill is unveiling a new “D” donation icon to remind people that just as there are items to recycle, there are items to donate.
When people donate items they no longer need to Goodwill, they help someone become independent. This simple act also strengthens the community and preserves the environment. Donations mark the vital first step in ensuring Goodwill can provide programs to support people in our community. Last year, 421,000 local donors gave items to Goodwill. These donations helped Goodwill provide critical services to 72,000 people.
The Donate Movement starts with the community. Get involved by donating today. Visit goodwill-colosprings.org to use the new Donation Impact Calculator.
