Our Impact in 2010

Goodwill is about helping people recognize and reach their full potential. As one of the top ten Goodwills in the United States and Canada for the number of people we place in jobs each year, we have a significant and positive impact on the community.
Some of the impact we’ve had is impossible to measure. But here’s a look at significant ways Goodwill has impacted our Colorado Communities in the last year.
Goodwill Worked to Improve Lives
- Goodwill provided services to 64,420 people.
- Goodwill helped 3,293 people find jobs with community employers.
- Projected annual earnings of job seekers who entered community employment are $52,860,000.
- Because of the number of people we place in jobs, we consistently rank in the top ten among 165 Goodwills in the U.S. and Canada.
- Contracts with the federal government and community businesses employed 188 individuals with disabilities who worked 145,936 hours earning $1,551,235.
- Goodwill’s adult day programs and home care service helped 341 adults who need assistance with daily living maintain their personal independence and remain in their homes.
- Goodwill helped 607 families improve functioning and become more independent though employment services, parenting classes and homemaking skills.
Donations Changed Lives
- Goodwill received 24,128,674 pounds of donations. Thanks to 455,258 donor visits and 1,182,075 customer visits, we are keeping unnecessary waste out of landfills and funding our human services programs.
- Our retail operation is closely integrated with our programs and services. Donated goods collection, processing and sales employed 97 people with disabilities.
- Goodwill provided $134,938 in emergency clothing vouchers to 5,911 individuals in need through partnerships with area nonprofits.
Together, We Made a Difference
- Goodwill employed 1,019 people, 42% of whom have a disability.
- 1,125 volunteers gave 26,364 hours of their time to fulfill Goodwill’s mission.
An Investment in Goodwill is an Investment in our Community
- Goodwill used 89% of its budget for programs and services
These accomplishments are collective achievements thanks to the support of our partnering agencies, community businesses, volunteers, shoppers and donors and our dedicated staff and board members.
