If you have a used vehicle you want to get rid of—even if it needs a little work—Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado has a great option for you. You don’t have to haggle with strangers over price or dicker with dealers. And you don’t have to pay to have it hauled away.  When you donate your vehicle to Goodwill you receive a tax deduction—and support Goodwill programs and services that help people become independent.

 

How tax law changes affect your vehicle donation:

You are allowed to deduct the gross proceeds Goodwill receives from the sale of your vehicle at auction.  For vehicles with a claimed value greater than $500, Goodwill will provide you with written acknowledgment detailing the gross proceeds of the sale within 30 days of the vehicle being sold.   For vehicles with a claimed value less than $500, the fair market value may be used for tax deduction purposes.

  • Boats and trailers
  • Motorcycles
  • RVs and campers

  • Receive a tax deduction
  • Avoid advertising expenses and the inconvenience of strangers coming to your home
  • Enjoy free vehicle pick-up
  • Avoid paperwork hassles—Goodwill takes care of everything
  • Help people achieve independence

 
It's so easy:

  • Goodwill accepts all vehicles —running or not (Goodwill tows non-running vehicles)
  • You must present a properly signed title and keys
  • Goodwill gives you a special vehicle donation receipt
  • You’ll receive an acknowledge letter from Goodwill detailing the gross proceeds of the sale
